An inclusive environment
Eastleigh College is fully inclusive, serving learners with
varying ages and abilities. It is proud of its ability to meet the
needs of a diverse range of learners. It achieved the Investors in
Diversity award in 2010, and actively promotes Equality and
Diversity with its staff, students, suppliers and
contractors.
Higher Education learners are seen as one strand of college life
that integrates with the whole College community. We feel this
makes the College a friendly and interesting place to be.
Facilities Overview
The College is a mixture of new and old buildings spread over four sites. On the main site students will find:
- The Learning Centre
- A designated HE Study Area
- Student Support Services Centre
- Refectory
- Coffee Shop
- Counselling Service
Extra@Eastleigh
All students attending the College can access the extra@eastleigh enrichment programme, which offers an extensive range of sporting activities and leisure opportunities. These include access to the College gym, a range of sport and fitness activities and various leisure classes and clubs. View the full extra@eastleigh programme here.
Student Involvement
The Student Council meets every term to raise and discuss issues
regarding the quality of College life, and to be consulted on
proposed changes. Feedback is provided to those students who are
unable to attend the meetings via newsletters, digital signage,
email and posters.
Students are also invited to be a part of a Student Executive. This
group of students meet monthly with the Director of Teaching and
Learning, the Student Liaison Officer, the Customer Services
Support Manager and the Clerk to the Governors. This group is
empowered to contribute to more in depth consultation regarding the
College. Members of the Student Executive are also Eastleigh
College Governors.
Students are surveyed for their views at induction, during their
programme and when they have completed their course. HE students
may also be subject to surveys produced by the awarding
universities and may be asked to complete the National Student
Survey. In addition, students can go online to pass comments
regarding the College using the 'Have Your Say' option on
Moodle.
