Who is the course suitable for?

The HNC is offered as a day release programme over 2 years and is an essential qualification for those who wish to progress to professional and management level careers within the construction industry.

The content of the course is broad based and covers most standard aspects of building including: Design Principles & Applications; Science & Materials; Analytical Methods; Management Principles & Applications; Group Project; Health, Safety &Welfare; Construction Economics; Individual Student Project; Technology A; Measurement A; Site Surveying Procedures. All course assessments are carried out through a series of assignments, which are marked by your college tutors. This wide coverage of building subjects will allow you to have a better understanding of all aspects of building from design and costing, to contract and construction. The course is focused on the specific needs of the 'contracting' industry and will provide students with the requisite knowledge, concepts, techniques and skills to enable them to effectively fulfill their existing and future managerial responsibilities.
